Trains are so rad!

So we are currently between Paris and Brussels doing 180mph on the train with free wifi, a stewardess, plenty of electrical outlets (4 to be exact), and a TON of legroom. I love Europe. Amsterdam, here we come!

A week in nice!

Will enjoying some coffee and a book on our balcony... Very french-esque.

It's now been about a week since we arrived in nice! We've had lots of fun exploring the city and eating... lots. It's amazing how great the food is almost anywhere you go and how gorgeous the sights are along the coast and even in town.

At the beginning of the week we attempted to go to Monaco and check out the beautiful cars and people. After waiting for the bus for an hour, we lost hope of making it that day and caught the bus one town over. All was not lost because we managed to find large boats, yummy pizza and a blue coast!

Walking through town...

Seafood pizza... Delish.

Even with a baby octopus on top. (I couldn't eat it)

Mussels and frites (French fries). Never would have guessed but best combo evs!!

Being so close to the sea, we walked down to the beach and spent some time by the water. Nice is known for it's coast of rocks, not sand. OUCH.

Our first day we laid on the rocks while eying up the cushioned chairs further down the coast at a beach restaurant type place. Two days later when we decided to hit up the beach, this is where we went! Check the cushioned chairs in the background.

The next day we took the ferry to a nearby island, Saint-Tropez. Saint-Tropez is known for it's celebrity visitors and pricey shops (wish I had taken a picture of these).
Will and me on the ferry!

Once we arrived in Saint-Tropez, we stumbled across this tree covered restaurant. We were nervous the food may not be good since it was empty, however, 20 minutes later it was packed. Good timing!

Along the dock we stopped by a restaurant to check out some overpriced boats and drinks. Definitely an experience.

Leaving the island we were a little late catching the ferry and were stuck in seats that get splashed with water. Check out our soaked shirts!

Just happy to be in France!
Bonsoir!

It's summer!

From Richmond, we drove to dc to fly to Barcelona! We were ready for vaca and celebrated with some $8 mimosas at the airport.

We met my brother matt in atlanta, made it to barcelona, checked into our hostel and found some potatas bravas and Estrella. I studied in barca 2 summers ago and was excited to be back on my old stomping grounds!

Matt and i in front of the Sagrada familia. This church is still being built and was started by Anton Gaudi in 1883. He died in 1926 but they are still working away and have an estimated completion date of 2026.

The fountain light show and our sandwich and sangria dinner!

Our second day in barcelona was rainy. We checked out camp nou, where barcelona's football team plays!

Cutting our time in Barcelona short a day, we loaded on a bus and traveled to Nice, France where my parents had already settled in! We were supposed to arrive in nice around 6 am. However, our bus got in around 4 am, when no trams or taxis were running and all we had was an address to find where we were going. Whoops! After wandering aimlessly, looking for the address for about an hour, we figured out where we were and found my parents, thank goodness.

We fell back asleep for several hours, since it's near impossible to sleep on a bus and we were pretty exhausted. When we woke up later we were ready to go and went out to explore our new home for the next 2 weeks!

Richmond, VA

Once we arrived in Virginia, we quickly got to work visiting Will's friends and celebrating His bday!

We started the week at the beer, bourbon & bbq festival. Absolutely delicious. With lots of bourbon (including makers mark, Jameson, Jack Daniels, Evan, and lots of other possibilities), beer (any type you could possibly imagine) BBQ and awesome friends, we were in absolute heaven.

We even had our sample glasses dipped in the makers mark wax! Freaking awesome.

At the festival we were surprisingly responsible, for the most. The following pictures wrap up the rest of the day pretty well...

The rest of our time in Richmond was spent exploring the city... We checked out a Richmond Flying Squirrels game...

as well as the Greek festival (where we got some baklava (delish!!!)

From there we caught a flight to barcelona and are finally in Europe where we will spend the next several weeks!!! Hooray for summer!!

The past two weeks

The past two weeks have been awesomely busy. With school ending, we have semi-relaxed but have also traveled half way around the world. Here's a little bit of what we've been up to!

Over Memorial day weekend, juco (junior college world series) was in town, and we went enjoyed some hot dogs and baseball!

Juco hosted some fireworks the next night which was pretty sweet.

Once school let out, we packed up and prepared to head out east to drop Ridley off at summer camp (aka Will's house in Virginia). Here's a little bit of excitement from our drive... As you will see, a lot changed throughout the drive.
Leaving Junction...

Will's excited...

And rildeys ready to go...

Driving through vail...

Will is so happy

And Ridleys settling in

Driving past Denver...

4 hrs in..

Sooooo done.

Kansas...

Indiana...

Stopped in Cincinnati for the night and enjoyed some Cincinnati chili at skyline. The chili is a little sweeter than most are used to (made with cinnamon and chocolate) and placed on top of spaghetti or hot dogs with lots of shredded cheese on the top! Mmmmmmmm. They're also open until 3:00 am.... Very convenient after a night of drinking.

One of two cheese coneys with everything (mustard & onion) almost completely eaten. Amazing.

On the road again in Kentucky..

West Virginia...

Waterfalls in West Virginia... New fav state due to all the waterfalls we passed.

Will completely geeked out on this bridge and had to stop...

And we're home in Richmond... 2,116 miles later! Awesome trip!
