As seen outside the courthouse...

No joke.

Bike racing come to GJ

Saturday was the CMU bike race. It started out in the desert with a 4 person team time trial. There really wasn't much to see, it was a 10 mile (ish) course that was just an out and back so you got to see about 10 seconds of bike racing.

Then for lunch, Kelly, Eddie, and I rode down to the park and had a picnic and played frisbee and got sunburned.

After we were joined by Jen, we headed downtown for a full slate of races. They started at 5 and the last race ended at 10 with some pretty cool, if not particularly well lit, racing.

Matching cat 5 tats! How cute.

12:15 to Loma

After yesterday's ride snafu I decided to try again under sunny but chilly skies.

The clouds, wind, and snow of yesterday were replaced with a clear Colorado spring day.

Heading out to Loma I saw this Amish (or Mennonite or Mormon...) pickup game of baseball. They we wearing clothes straight out of a John Wayne western and had gloves that could have come straight from The Sandlot.

The old main highway coming back from Loma parallels the railroad and this union pacific train rode with me for three or four miles, blowing its horn a each cattle crossing leaving me a tad deaf in my right ear.

The final high(or low)point of the ride was a superbowl-esque wardrobe malfunction.
