Saturday Kelly, me, and our freinds Jen and Eddie 'competed' in the 18 hours of Fruita. The weather was super dry and warm during it which meant the course was super dusty, especially during the first laps at night. Once you got in a line of riders (which was often since the course was just 6.5 miles long) pretty much all you could see was the back tire in front of you and dust (fun fact: dust is really unpleasant to have in your mouth).
Kelly tearing it up on her first lap.
The big hill at the very end of the lap, 80ish steep feet right there.
Once we got going though we had a pretty good routine and everyone was happy with there number of laps and I was just glad we didnt finish DFL.
Me, on my last lap, about to hit the final switchback. Note the stuck out arms and super hunched riding position, I was a little tired by then.
Kelly on the high-banked switchbacks. There we 7 or 8 switchbacks on a downhill straight out of a BMX course. SWEEET.
Proper hydration is a must - even at 9am
