What a week

Kelly was working diligently last week getting her 4th graders ready for CSAP, the Colorado standardized testing, I, on the other hand, was enjoying the weather (seriously though, i actually do alot of schoolwork, well some schoolwork...).

After the ride we went over to Kannah Creek, our local restaurant/ brewery.  When we found out they were down to their last keg of their seasonal Scottish Ale, we decided we should try and drink all of it.  Thankfully Kannah is right near Kellys school so she hooked us up with a ride.

Friday morning I went skiing for a couple hours.

And Friday afternoon Eddy and I went and rode Mary's Loop.  We dont have any pics of Friday night but we went out with friends to Kannah, then to sushi (and flavored sake), then to an Irish Pub where there may or may not have been a Mexican Gang initiation going on, and then to another bar that had live music and cheap PBR.

And to finish the week off Saturday went out and did a Marys-Steves (x2)-Horsethief Ride.

Phew.

Saturday we got up early and drove up to Powderhorn.  It was snowing big, fluffy flakes when we got up there and continued to snow the whole time we were there.  We were the 2nd people on the lift and got untracked, totally fresh snow!

It wasnt too cold but it was super windy and alot of snow was coming down. Every day should be like that.  IT WAS AWESOME!



The problem with buying a chainsaw...

...is that if you cant afford a log splitter, you're in for a world of hurt.

And theres plenty more.

At least we'll be able to have plenty of bonfires this summer.

Its almost dry...

Sunday we went out for a ride in Rabbit Valley, since it was the only place semi-dry in the area.

 Weee.  There were still some puddles but it wasnt too bad.  We didnt get any rain in GJ but Fruita, 10 miles away, and west of there got a couple inches.

Today I went out to McInnis Canyon (aka Kokopelli) and got a lap + in on Marys Loop.  It was dry in some places and nasty in others so I was only out for an hour and a half.  I talked with the only other guy out there who was from Steamboat and rocking an Ellsworth with full XX (with a 140mm rear rotor on a 5 inch bike??) and we complimented each other on our bikes.  Its only a little conceited, right?

Thursday I headed up to Powderhorn to get a few runs in to calm down after a calculus test.  As luck would have it, they had gotten a few inches of snow the night before and more was coming down on my way up.

 After a couple hours the clouds cleared up and the temps got close to 40.  Warm weather, sunshine, AND fresh pow, oh my...
